Planning & Design of Utility Network Layout for Approved Plot Layout

Project Overview: We are seeking an experienced Civil Infrastructure / Utility Design Engineer or Infrastructure CAD Specialist to prepare a complete planning and design of integrated utility infrastructure for an approved residential plot layout. The objective of this project is to design and coordinate all essential infrastructure utilities within the layout in a technically sound and constructible manner. The design must integrate the following services: sewerage network, water distribution network, electrical distribution network, telecommunication network, and gas distribution network. The freelancer will prepare detailed infrastructure planning drawings, coordinated layouts, hydraulic calculations, and cross sections ensuring proper integration between all services while maintaining safe clearances and practical construction feasibility.
Project Inputs (Provided by Client): The client will provide the approved plot layout drawing in AutoCAD or PDF format, road network and plot boundaries, plot dimensions and road widths, and any available local standards or planning references if applicable.
Scope of Work: The freelancer will be responsible for planning, designing, and preparing coordinated infrastructure layouts for all required systems within the approved layout.
Sewerage Network Design: The freelancer shall design the complete sewerage network for the layout ensuring efficient gravity flow and proper drainage planning. The scope includes sewer line routing along internal roads, determination of pipe diameters, design of pipe slopes for gravity flow, manhole placement and spacing, junction manholes at road intersections, identification of connection point to main sewer or disposal system, and coordination with other underground utilities. Required outputs include sewerage network layout drawing, manhole location plan, pipe diameter indications, and flow direction and slope indication.
Water Distribution Network Design: The freelancer must design the complete water supply system including storage structures, pumping system, hydraulic calculations, and distribution network. The scope includes routing of main and branch pipelines across the layout, pipe sizing based on projected demand, planning of distribution zones, placement of isolation valves and control valves, identification of water connections for plots or clusters, and coordination with other underground utilities. The design must also include underground sump design with capacity calculation and layout planning, overhead tank or overhead sump design with storage capacity calculation and location planning, hydraulic calculations for water demand and pressure distribution, transfer pump design including pump capacity and head calculations with pump selection recommendations, and pump room design including pump arrangement, valves, control panels, and maintenance access.
Electrical Distribution Network Design: The freelancer shall plan the electrical supply network for the layout including electrical cable routing, transformer location planning if applicable, feeder pillar or distribution box locations, underground cable routing, street lighting pole layoutwith lux & luminous plotting, and coordination with other utilities. Required outputs include electrical distribution layout, transformer and feeder pillar locations, street lighting layout, and cable routing drawing.
Telecommunication Network Planning: The freelancer shall plan the telecommunication infrastructure within the layout including telecom duct routing, fiber optic network planning, telecom chamber or handhole placement, and coordination with other utilities. Required outputs include telecom duct routing plan, handhole or chamber locations, and telecom infrastructure layout.
Gas Distribution Network Design: The freelancer shall design the gas pipeline distribution system within the layout including gas pipeline routing, distribution planning along internal roads, safety clearance considerations, and coordination with other utilities. Required outputs include gas pipeline routing layout and gas distribution network drawing.
Integrated Utility Coordination Layout: The freelancer must prepare a combined infrastructure layout showing all utilities together to ensure there are no clashes between services. This coordinated layout must include the sewer network, water distribution network, electrical network, telecom network, and gas pipeline network. The objective is to ensure proper utility corridor planning and appropriate spacing between services.
Cross Sections Requirement: The freelancer must prepare typical road cross sections showing the placement of all utilities within the road corridor. Cross sections must clearly indicate road width and boundaries, sewer line location and depth, water pipeline location, electrical cable or duct location, telecom duct location, gas pipeline location, and vertical and horizontal clearances between utilities. These cross sections must demonstrate how all services are installed within the right of way of the road.
Final Deliverables: The completed project must be submitted in PDF format for all disciplines. The freelancer must submit sewerage network layout drawing, water distribution layout drawing, underground sump design drawing, overhead tank or overhead sump design drawing, hydraulic calculation report for the water distribution system, transfer pump design details, pump room layout drawing, electrical distribution layout drawing, telecommunication layout drawing, gas pipeline layout drawing, integrated utility coordination layout drawing, and typical utility road cross sections. Each drawing must include proper scale, clear labeling, legends and symbols, title block, and identification of each utility discipline.
Software Requirements: AutoCAD is mandatory and Civil 3D is preferred but optional.
Required Skills: Civil engineering infrastructure design, utility network planning, township infrastructure design, AutoCAD drafting, and underground utility coordination.
Preferred Experience: Freelancers with experience in residential layout infrastructure design, township planning projects, municipal infrastructure layouts, and utility corridor planning will be preferred.
Expected Outcome: The final result should be a complete and coordinated infrastructure utility design package for the approved plot layout including utility network plans, storage and pumping infrastructure design, hydraulic calculations, integrated utility coordination layout, and utility cross sections. All documents must be submitted as clear professional PDF drawings suitable for engineering review and planning purposes.
