Piezoelectric Solenoid Engine - 11/08/2023 13:05 EDT
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
This is a radial solenoid engine design. The yellow dots represent tiny quartz tuning forks and amplifiers (typically used in watches) that send electrical charges to the copper wire coils when. Inside the coils are thin metal rods with metal tips.
When the charge travels through the coil, the magnetic field will repel the metal rod out, sending it careening into another quartz crystal in the center (the black hole in the design pic), striking it, and generating an electrical charge.
The recoil experienced by the the rod afterwards will send it back into the coil and into another tuning fork which acts as a backstop, which will quickly shoot the rod back out again, repeating the process over and over again, the metal rod striking the quartz. The electrical charges generated by the quartz in the center will be syphoned off and used for other purposes.
The attached photos show my conceptual design work up to this point. I’m looking for this engine to be as small as possible, and generate as much power as possible. Hopefully the end product will fit in the palm of my hand.
