1. Project description:
- The intermittent (Start-stop) Packaging machine has a servo motor to pull wrapping foil/film 100-300mm, bag length (set on touch screen) per cycle.
- The speed of the servo motor is controlled by pulse train from PLC. Use the JOG instruction.
- The Motor Speed is set on touch screen.
- Bag length (belts motor run) is measured by
o An Encoder measuring the film movement (in case of plain film) or
 Make a conversion constant on touch screen to convert pulse per rev in mm of film.
o A Photo-sensor (if printed film used) which reads the registration mark on the film/foil and stops the motor.
- The motor has to stop:
o immediately (with a deceleration ramp) if plain film selected or
o After Reg Mark signal received and length offset (in mm, measured by the encoder)
Alarms:
- If the motor runs longer than 3 sec. , (when plain film selected, make this Max Pull Time settable on touch screen) then stop the motor and send an alarm message to touch screen “ Max Pulling time exceeded”.
- If the Photo sensor doesn’t see the Reg Mark for 3 sec, than stop the motor and send an alarm message to touch screen “ Reg Mark Missing”.
Manual pulling of the film:
- Make a function: Continuous Manual film pulling when the machine is in manual mode and stopped.

- Servo Drive: Omron R7D-AP04H
