PLC and HMI Schneider M251 for Cryogenics
Budget: $3,000 – $5,000 USD
I'm looking to control Liquid Cryogenic Fluid Pumping System, using a Schneider electric Machine Expert and Viso Studio for HMI. The system should monitor and log temperature, pressure and flow rates. Prove safety interlocks and shutdowns.
The Liquid Cryogenic Fluid Pumping System takes liquid cryogenic fluid from a vertical tank and supplies the user with vaporized gas at two pressures (high and Low). Pressure is supplied via two 60 hp pumps (P1 / P2) with only one operating at a time. High pressure liquid is fed through an ambient vaporizer with low temperature protection applied downstream. The resulting high-pressure gas is fed to a distribution manifold where gas is fed to either a mid-pressure storage tubes or a high-pressure storage tube. Downstream of each storage system are independent dual pressure control manifolds:
Low pressure dual PCM: reduces the pressure supplied from the mid-pressure storage tubes
to low pressure at a specified SCFH
High pressure dual PCM: reduces the pressure supplied from the High-pressure storage tube
slightly at specified SCFH
These pressure control manifolds are fully manual. Downstream of each manifold will be a pressure
transmitter to see the pressure supplied to the user at all times.
The system will also feature a compressor designed to take top gas from the bulk tank and
compress it into the mid-pressure storage tubes. The compressor will operate independently of the liquid
pumps, and will cycle on and off based on bulk tank pressure and ASME tube pressure. Gas from the
ASME tubes will supply the user via the low-pressure control manifold.
Key Requirements:
- Program Schneider Electric PLC using Schneider Electric Machine Expert
- Program Schneider Electric HMI using Viso studio
- Local access only, no remote capabilities needed
Ideal Skills and Experience:
- Extensive experience with PLC and HMI systems, specifically Schneider Electric
- Proven track record in designing systems for controlling and monitoring cryogenic gas
- Understanding P&ID and electrical schematics for Pumps and compressors.
