Optimize RO Plant Energy Consumption

Our reverse-osmosis facility is using more electricity per cubic metre of product water than it should. The goal of this assignment is to pinpoint every avoidable kilowatt-hour, implement practical fixes, and prove a measurable drop in our utility bill so the plant can maintain an “Excellent” operational rating.

Scope of work
• Audit the present electrical load profile, motor drives, and process sequencing to locate peaks and idle losses.
• Recommend and help apply optimisation measures such as variable-frequency drives, smart start-stop logic, power-factor correction, or other proven tactics that suit seawater RO systems.
• Establish baseline performance, monitor post-implementation data, and supply a short report showing percentage savings, payback time, and any side benefits (noise, maintenance, carbon reduction).

Acceptance criteria
• Minimum 10 % reduction in specific energy consumption (kWh/m³) sustained over four consecutive weeks.
• Clear before/after charts sourced from our SCADA or dataloggers.
• A concise hand-over document that operations staff can follow to keep the gains permanent.
