Investigation of Electrical Capacitance Tomography for agarwood detection

Agarwood (Aquilaria Malaccensis) or known as Gaharu in Malaysia, has high value in the market and its oil is widely used for producing medication. To get matured and quality agarwood, it needs to wait for the tree to grow and human experience can not predict the placement and quantity of agarwood in a tree. Thus, it is very important to investigate the condition of the agarwood before the tree is cut. The commonly applied tomography method is based on sonic and magnetic inductive tomography approaches. In this project, electrical capacitance tomography is proposed and the different electrical permittivity will be the main consideration for this ECT. Using Comsol Multiphysics software for design. The design are includes with sensor jig, electrodes, pipe. From comsol, can get until sensor reading. And for input the algorithm, using Matlab software.
