Objective:
We are seeking an experienced Electrical / Electromagnetic Design Engineer to design a half-moon shaped coil (~12 cm in diameter) that will be driven by a sound amplifier. The amplifier will drive the coil to generate an EMF (electromotive force), and the goal is to develop an optimal design matched to the amplifier’s characteristics.
Responsibilities
Design and calculate a 12 cm half-moon electromagnetic coil optimized for operation with a standard sound amplifier output.
Match the coil’s impedance, inductance, and current handling to the amplifier’s specifications.
Optimize the design for efficient EMF generation and stable response across audio frequencies.
Provide design documentation, simulations (if available), and material recommendations suitable for prototyping.
Requirements
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electromagnetics, or related field.
Proven experience designing custom coils, inductors, or solenoids.
Solid understanding of AC circuits, magnetic field modeling, and impedance matching.
Experience with simulation tools (e.g., COMSOL, ANSYS Maxwell, FEMM) is a plus.
Ability to deliver accurate calculations, schematics, and clear documentation.
Deliverables
Final coil design (schematics, dimensions, winding specs).
Supporting calculations and/or simulation data.
Material and fabrication recommendations.
Project Type
Fixed-price, one-time design project.
Remote collaboration is acceptable.

This is a work-for-hire project. All intellectual property (IP), source files, and deliverables will become the property of the client upon full payment.
