Electrical Estimator
Budget: $2 – $8 USD
We are looking for Electrical estimator who can remotely support our team of electrical and mechanical engineers of our company that’s is doing business in New Zealand. Responsibilities will include estimating projects using electrical and mechanical drawings among other source documents supplied by our leading engineer. Familiarity with simPRO is a must. The ideal candidate for this job is a person with electrical engineering degree and minimum 3-5 years of industrial experience, specifically project estimation. Will start with part time on a temporary period to test your performance than continue on full throttle full time.
Our projects range from $100k – $3 million, more often than not with high end boutique industrial finishes including automation, lighting, demolition, power distribution, all required to be cost-evaluated and written up under very tight deadlines.
Your product and industry experience, technical know-how, diligence and fantastic communication skills will ensure you get this job.
Responsibilities and Duties:
• Strong understanding of the scope of work to bid.
• Ensure timely completion of estimates.
• Prepare cost analysis.
• Review and evaluate equipment, material, subcontractor, and other supplier cost estimates.
• Communicate with trade partners, team members and management regarding estimates.
• Manage bid pricing from all vendors.
Your Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Strong safety knowledge and understanding of how project deliverable activities are completed on site.
• Strong Business acumen, with the ability to think outside of the box.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Capacity of working autonomously and as a team player.
• Ability to work in an agile way, enabling to complete multiple tasks within a day.
• Experience with prioritizing and meeting deadlines within short notice.
• Knowledge and practical experience of commercial/industrial electrical projects is essential.
• Design and Construct experience would be a distinct advantage.
• Our job costing system is simPRO. It’s the management software we use to manage our service,
projects and maintenance work, without the paperwork including estimating tools.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Your Background and Experience:
• Ideally, you have experience in commercial/industrial electrical projects obtained in a previous project manager or estimator role. Proof of experiences will have to be presented during a video interview.
• Relevant industry qualifications and licenses.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Great attitude toward work and a strong drive to grow within your career.
• Highly committed and reliable.
• Strong professional reference.
