Freelance Requirement – Electrical & Wiring Design Support (4WD Crawler)
We are building a 4-wheel drive crawler system and require support in electrical & wiring design, component selection, and integration.
Design Snapshot
Input Power: 220 / 440 VAC shore supply → rectified to 48 V DC bus.
DC Bus Rating: ~600 W continuous, safety margin included.
Motors: 4 × BLDC motors (48 V) with planetary gearbox and spring-applied, power-released brakes. Example: Kollmorgen KBM series.
Motor Controllers: Industrial BLDC drives (Kollmorgen AKD / Maxon ESCON class).
Tether Cable: Hybrid (2 × 6 mm² copper + earth + Cat6 + optional fiber). 30 m typical (safe up to 50 m).
Safety:
Dual redundant E-stop loop.
Safety relay/contactors.
Power-fail brake engagement.
Work Scope
Wiring & Electrical Design:
Full wiring schematic (power, control, safety).
DIN-rail layout, terminal mapping, connector specs.
Harness Build Sheet:
Cut lengths, color codes, crimps, connectors (ready for fabrication).
Component Selection / BOM Finalization:
Motors, drives, rectifier/SMPS, DC-DC converters, safety relays, E-stop, connectors.
Provide equivalent model suggestions (Kollmorgen / Maxon / MeanWell / Igus / Pilz etc.).
Procurement Guidance:
Suggest suppliers and part numbers (India/Global).
Prepare RFQ-ready list with test/inspection requirements.
Control Integration:
MCU (STM32/Industrial PLC) + SBC (Raspberry Pi/Jetson optional).
Encoder, brake coil, watchdog, and comms wiring.
Deliverables Expected
Updated schematic (PDF/CAD) with exact terminal blocks.
Harness build sheet (CSV/PDF).
Parts list (BOM) with model references and ratings.
Guidance on safety, EMC, grounding, and commissioning tests.
