Comprehensive Smart Toilet Automation Design
Budget: $250 – $750 AUD
I’m putting together a full engineering package for an advanced, network-connected smart toilet. The system must cover automated flushing, a thorough self-cleaning cycle, and user detection with individual preference customisation. Alongside the local touchscreen HMI already envisaged, I specifically need a secure, responsive web-based dashboard for remote monitoring, alarm handling and data logging.
Your task is to create the complete functional design specification, size and select all controls and instrumentation, and lay out the electrical architecture. That includes choosing suitable PLC or edge controllers, sensors, valves, drives, communication protocols, and presenting clear wiring diagrams. Build in robust safety with redundant shut-off valves, overflow sensing, emergency stops and manual overrides so the toilet can still be used safely if the automation is bypassed.
Deliverables
• Functional Design Specification (editable + PDF)
• Detailed P&ID or equivalent schematics and wiring drawings
• Comprehensive I/O list and bill of materials for all electrical, control and instrumentation parts
• Control-logic narrative or sample ladder/FBD code to illustrate sequencing
• Web dashboard wireframes plus full tag/database list
• Safety analysis and documented override procedures
Acceptance criteria: components rated minimum IP65 in wet areas, 24 VDC control wiring, and a browser-based dashboard that loads without plug-ins. The project timeline is flexible; accuracy and completeness take priority. I welcome any clarifying questions or technical recommendations that improve reliability and user experience.
