Project Description
I am looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to prepare a complete electrical design package for a Residential + Commercial building project. The design must include indoor and outdoor electrical systems, emergency lighting, DG backup systems, fire pump electrical supply, lift supply, inverter backup lines for apartments, conduit routing, and BOQ preparation.
Design must comply with NBC India, IS standards, and standard electrical engineering practices.

Scope of Work
1. Indoor Electrical Design
- Lighting layout for apartments, commercial areas, corridors, staircases, and common areas
- Power layout including switches, sockets, and appliance points
- Load calculations and diversity calculations
- Distribution board (DB) design and schedules
- Single Line Diagram (SLD)
2. Emergency Lighting System
- Emergency lighting layout for staircases, corridors, and exit routes
- Design with DG backup supply
- Ensure minimum required lux levels for safe evacuation
3. Outdoor Electrical Design
- Street lighting layout for internal roads
- Parking area lighting
- Building entrance and pathway lighting
- Outdoor lux level calculations
4. DG Backup System
DG sizing and electrical design for emergency loads including:
- Emergency lighting
- Fire pump system
- Lift (minimum one lift on DG)
- Staircase lighting
- Corridor lighting
- Common area lighting
- Water pump
Provide DG load calculation and integration in SLD.
5. Fire Pump Electrical System
Electrical supply design for:
- Fire pump
- Jockey pump
- Fire control panel supply
- Dedicated power supply with DG backup
6. Lift Power Supply
- Electrical power supply design for lifts
- DG backup provision for lift operation during power failure
7. Inverter Line for Apartments
- Design inverter backup circuits for essential loads in each apartment
- Separate wiring for inverter-backed lighting and fan circuits
8. Conduit Routing
- Electrical conduit routing inside slabs and walls
- Coordination with structural and architectural drawings to avoid clashes
9. BOQ Preparation
Prepare BOQ including:
- Lighting fixtures
- Switches and sockets
- Distribution boards
- Cables and wiring
- Conduits and accessories
- Earthing system
- Street lighting poles and fixtures
Required Lux Levels (Design Standard)
Indoor Areas:
- Apartments living rooms: 150–200 lux
- Bedrooms: 100–150 lux
- Kitchens: 200–300 lux
- Bathrooms: 150 lux
Common Areas:
- Corridors: 100 lux
- Staircases: 100 lux
- Lobbies: 150–200 lux
- Lift lobby: 150 lux
Emergency Lighting:
- Staircases: 10 lux
- Escape routes / corridors: 1–10 lux
- Exit doors: 10 lux
Parking Areas:
- Basement parking: 50–75 lux
- Open parking: 30–50 lux
Outdoor Areas:
- Internal roads / street lights: 10–15 lux
- Pathways / walkways: 5–10 lux
- Building entrance: 50 lux
- Landscape lighting: 5–10 lux
Deliverables
- AutoCAD electrical drawings (lighting layout, power layout, conduit routing)
- Emergency lighting layout
