Commercial Gym Lighting Design
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I’m renovating a commercial gym here in Utah and need a licensed electrical engineer to create a code-compliant lighting design. The space is roughly 5,000 sq ft and includes open workout area, child care, and 3 bathrooms.
What I’m looking for:
• A complete lighting layout showing fixture locations, circuiting, and switching. (I have this completed and ready)
• Photometric calculations to verify light levels meet IES recommendations for fitness facilities.
• Panel schedules and load calculations tied to the existing service.
• Written notes and details that address emergency egress, exit signage, and occupancy sensors.
• CAD files (DWG) and a stamped PDF set ready for submission to the city.
I have an architectural floor plan in DWG and can provide ceiling heights plus any site photos you need. You’ll advise on suitable fixture families—LED preferred—and suggest any cost-saving alternatives as long as they don’t compromise compliance.
Please share:
• Your Utah PE number (or explain how you’ll arrange the stamp).
• A brief outline of your approach and estimated timeline.
I’m ready to start as soon as I choose the right engineer and would like initial drawings within two weeks, with a final sealed set after any reviewer comments are addressed.
