I need a set of science materials on ecosystems tailored to learners aged 11–13. The writing must stay friendly and engaging, striking a balance between conversational flow and scientific accuracy so a middle-school reader grasps key ideas without feeling talked down to.
Scope of work
• Compose a core reading passage (about 700 words) that introduces ecosystems, biotic/abiotic factors, energy flow, and simple food-web examples.
• Create ten comprehension questions—mix multiple choice, short answer, and one open-ended prompt that encourages critical thinking.
• Add two hands-on activity suggestions (low-prep and classroom-friendly) that reinforce the reading.
Essential guidelines
• Keep the scientific terminology I provide unchanged, but feel free to simplify surrounding language.
• Aim for a grade-6/7 reading level; readability tools are welcome but not mandatory.
• All content must be original and will be checked with plagiarism detection software.
• Submit in Google Docs so we can leave comments directly on the draft.
Timeline & review
I’d like the first draft within three days of project start. I will return consolidated feedback within 24 hours, and the final version should come back two days later. A quick quality pass—grammar, formatting consistency, and accurate citations for any referenced data—should happen before each hand-off.
