GCSE English Tutor Needed
Budget: £10 – £15 GBP
My Year 11 student is working toward the summer GCSE examinations and needs focused, one-on-one guidance. The priority areas are reading comprehension, creative writing, and grammar & vocabulary. We want each session to translate directly into stronger mock-exam performance, so I’m expecting you to break down past-paper questions, model high-level answers, and set concise homework pieces that we can review together at the next meeting.
You will run the sessions individually—this personalised approach is non-negotiable—though I’m open to the odd Group session or Online session later in the term if you feel it would reinforce exam technique. A typical lesson should last about an hour, delivered either in person locally or via Zoom/Google Meet with shared Google Docs for real-time annotation.
Deliverables
• Weekly 60-minute tutoring sessions
• Marked practice essays and comprehension exercises returned within 48 hours
• A short progress note after every four sessions outlining strengths, gaps, and next steps
Acceptance criteria
• Clear improvement in timed practice scores (we’ll track this together)
• Detailed, actionable feedback on every piece of written work
• All agreed sessions delivered punctually and materials provided in advance where necessary
If you have recent experience guiding students from a grade 5-6 up to at least a grade 7-8, I’d love to hear how you structure lessons and measure progress.
