Design German E-Commerce E-Book

Job ID: 40366138

Budget: €30 – €250 EUR

We are The Wachstum (http://twt.lt-webdemolink.com, a German EdTech platform. We are looking for an experienced PDF/Editorial Designer for our first major content project: "Das E-Com Scaling Playbook: Von 1 Mio. zu 10 Mio. € Umsatz".

The playbook brings together articles from 7 leading DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) E-Commerce experts across 100+ pages. Quality benchmark: Comparable to a paid report or McKinsey publication but free, used as a lead generation asset.

Important language note: All content is written in German. You do not need to write or translate any text, all copy is provided and finalized. However, basic German reading ability is a strong advantage so you can correctly place headlines, body text, captions, and labels without errors. If you do not read German, please mention this in your application and explain how you will handle it.

What we provide:

All content as ready Word/PDF documents (7 articles, 100+ pages of finalized copy)
Full CI Media Asset Package (logos, colors, fonts, imagery)
Cover concept as reference (Dark Theme mockup already exists)
Clear structure: chapters, author boxes, tables, info boxes, offer boxes – all defined

What you deliver:

Print-ready PDF (CMYK, 300 DPI, A4 format)
Digital version (RGB, interactive hyperlinks, clickable table of contents)
All source files (InDesign or Affinity Publisher strongly preferred)
Cover + back cover + table of contents + all article pages
Minimum 2 cover design concepts at the start for approval

Design Requirements:

Dark theme as the base (reference mockup will be shared after hiring)
Premium editorial feel – No generic Canva-style layouts
Clear typographic hierarchy: heading, subheading, body text, info boxes, tables
Author boxes per article with photo placeholder
Recurring design elements: Key Insight boxes, Offer boxes
Color palette
Desired vibe: book cover style, high-end, professional. Think McKinsey, not a blog PDF

Scope of Work:

Approx. 100–120 pages total
7 expert articles with mixed content (text, tables, screenshots, graphics)
1 cover page + 1 back cover
1 table of contents
7 chapter divider pages (one per author/expert)
Multiple info box and table templates (reusable, template-based)
All templates must be reusable for future editions of the playbook

Timeline:

2 cover concept variations: within 5 business days of briefing
First article as sample spread: within 7 business days of cover approval
Full completed playbook: within 3–4 weeks of sample approval

Who we are looking for:

Proven experience with multi-page reports, whitepapers, or e-books. Portfolio is mandatory
Proficiency in InDesign or Affinity Publisher (Photoshop/Illustrator as supplement is fine)
Experience with dark-theme editorial layouts is a strong plus
Reliable communication and ability to meet deadlines
Basic German reading ability is a significant advantage (see language note above)
