formatting a CV

I am a theatre maker and academic looking to clear formatting but also keep my style intact. I have been buiding my CV for 9 years and it has turned into a frakenstein monster with myriad formatting irregularities and I cannot seem to bring it into a holisticly formatted document. I believe I could accomplish this myself but I do not have the time. It is 21 pages but I think once you see the main problem, it will begin to flow easily. Multiple tablature indents, lines, columns that must be sinked up for information, font and size changes etc.
