Technical English to Amharic/Oromo
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
I have a collection of technical documents—product specs, user manuals, and engineering notes—currently in English that must be rendered with absolute accuracy into both Amharic and Afaan Oromoo. These files will be circulated among Ethiopian field teams and included in regulatory submissions, so every unit, figure, and acronym has to read flawlessly in the target languages.
You will receive the originals in editable Word and PDF. I need back:
• A layout-matched Amharic version, fully proof-read
• A layout-matched Afaan Oromoo version, fully proof-read
• A running glossary (English–Amharic–Oromo) capturing key terms as the project evolves
Proofreading is part of the service: please perform a final grammar, punctuation, and consistency check before delivering each file. Engineering or ICT subject-matter familiarity is a plus because precise jargon matters more than literal word-for-word rendering. If you work in SDL Trados, MemoQ, or another CAT tool, that’s great for maintaining term consistency, but it isn’t mandatory.
The first batch totals roughly 10 000 words. I’d like a midway drop at around 5 000 words so we can confirm terminology before you proceed with the rest. All translations must withstand an internal linguistic QA prior to sign-off.
