Spanish Translation for 8-12 Books
Budget: $2 – $8 AUD
I need clear, engaging Spanish editions of several English children’s books aimed at readers aged 8-12. The goal is straightforward: simplify the language so young Spanish-speaking readers can glide through each chapter on their own, without losing the humour, energy, or heart of the original stories.
You will receive editable Word files for three illustrated chapter books (about 8,000 words each). Only the text—narrative, dialogue, captions—requires translation; illustrations stay as they are. Where an English-specific reference might confuse a Spanish child, feel free to swap in an equivalent concept and note what you changed.
Deliverables
• Spanish manuscript for each book in DOCX, matching the original layout
• Brief glossary explaining any adapted terms or cultural substitutions
• One revision round after my review
Success is measured by a fluent read-aloud flow that fits the existing page design and can be understood easily by an average ten-year-old native Spanish speaker. First book should be completed within a week of kickoff, the others over the following two weeks. If you have samples of previous children’s translations, feel free to share.
