Spanish Proofreader & Editor for Book Publishing
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
We are seeking a highly skilled Spanish proofreader and editor to review and refine book manuscripts for publication. The ideal candidate must have strong expertise in Spanish grammar, punctuation, syntax, and stylistic consistency, along with experience in book publishing standards.
The selected freelancer will be responsible for ensuring that the content is linguistically accurate, culturally appropriate, and ready for final publication.
Scope of Work:
Proofread and edit Spanish manuscripts for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and syntax
Improve sentence structure, clarity, and readability while maintaining the original meaning
Ensure consistency in tone, style, and terminology throughout the manuscript
Identify and correct typographical and formatting issues
Cross-check translated content (if applicable) for accuracy against the source text
Deliver clean, publication-ready files with tracked changes or comments
Requirements:
Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish
Proven experience in proofreading/editing books (fiction and/or non-fiction)
Strong understanding of publishing standards and editorial guidelines
Experience working with MS Word (Track Changes) and/or Adobe InDesign is preferred
Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects efficiently
