Budget: $1,500 – $3,000 USD
I have a printed book of roughly 20,000 – 50,000 words that must first be converted into a clean, editable manuscript and then translated into Spanish, French, and German.
Scope of work
1. Retyping & cleanup
• Accurately transcribe every page, preserving chapter breaks, headings, footnotes, and any special characters.
• Deliver the source manuscript in MS Word and a matching PDF for quick reference.
2. Multilingual translation
• Produce three separate translations—Spanish, French, and German—keeping tone and style consistent with the original.
• Use CAT tools such as Trados or MemoQ to maintain term consistency; please keep the final files fully editable.
3. Quality assurance
• Self-proof each language version for spelling, grammar, and layout.
• Run a final alignment check so page numbers, citations, and internal references mirror the source.
Deliverables
• English master manuscript (.docx + PDF)
• Spanish, French, and German manuscripts (.docx + PDF each)
• Terminology/glossary file
• Change log or track-changes version for transparency
I value timely communication and expect an agreed-upon schedule for milestones—from initial sample pages through final handoff. If you have experience with literary works or technical terminology, highlight it when you reply and include a short sample of previous multilingual projects.
