Book Editor Duties and Responsibilities
Read and edit manuscripts and other documents for grammar, style, and accuracy
Ensure that the content meets the company’s standards
Collaborate with authors and publishers to ensure quality control throughout the entire process
Provide feedback to authors and publishers on the content of their books
Stay informed of the latest trends in the publishing industry
Partner with the marketing team to ensure that the books are properly promoted
Book Editor Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, or related field is preferred but not required if the candidate possesses 8+ years of experience.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the publishing industry preferred
In-depth knowledge of the publishing process, industry regulations, and copyright laws
Excellent writing and editing skills
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Strong organizational and communication skills
Proficient in Google Docs
