Formal Short Story Translation
Budget: $10 – $20 NZD
I have a collection of brief, literary short stories that need to be rendered into Spanish while retaining their elegance and subtlety. The finished text should read as if it were originally written in Spanish: polished, formally toned, and free of regional markers. Whenever an English-language cultural reference or idiom appears, I want it reshaped into a natural Spanish equivalent that delivers the same nuance to a neutral-Spanish reader.
Source files arrive in Word; feel free to work in any CAT tool you prefer (Trados, MemoQ, Wordfast, or even a clean bilingual table in Excel) as long as I receive:
• A final, proof-read Spanish document for each story in .docx
• A clean bilingual version (original + translation side-by-side) for spot checks
Every story is under 3,000 words, and I’ll share them in batches. Accuracy, consistency and respect for the intended formal register are paramount; please keep regionalisms out and double-check that any adapted references sound effortless in neutral Spanish. If this aligns with your expertise, let’s start with the first batch right away.
