Copy editing book manuscript

I am seeking an experienced editor who is a fluent English speaker with expertise in proof-reading and copy-editing textbooks to develop a textbook that will be published posthumously. The author, an emeritus professor at Stanford University, sadly passed away late last year. I made a commitment to him to bring his work to completion, ideally including submission for publication by a reputable academic publisher.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience editing technical book-length manuscripts in both philosophy and neuroscience. Following copy-editing, the ideal candidate would then develop the rough manuscript into a final manuscript. The last step would be to help me identify suitable academic publishers and preparing the MS for submission to selected publishers.

Some material has already been transcribed into Word docs, however a large amount of material is in hand-written form. After identifying the most qualified candidate I will provide copies of all material together with Word doc files. The family is strongly invested in seeing the manuscript through to completion, and is prepared to offer a competitive fee.
