Civil Appellate Brief Drafting

Job ID: 40471634

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

I’m preparing to take two civil cases up on appeal and need a seasoned legal writer to turn the trial-court records and my outline of issues into polished, persuasive appellate briefs. You’ll be responsible for shaping compelling statements of facts, framing the legal questions, researching all controlling and persuasive authorities, and drafting the argument sections so they conform to the rules of the relevant appellate courts.

Project scope
• Area of law: civil litigation (contract dispute and deprivation of rights under color of law)
• Brief type: full appellate briefs for both Maryland and D.C., ready for filing
• Materials I’ll supply: trial transcripts, exhibits, rulings, notice of appeal, and my preliminary list of issues

What I’m looking for
Accuracy and clarity are paramount. I’d like citations in Bluebook form and the documents formatted to meet page-limit, margin, and font rules of each jurisdiction once we confirm them together. Strong command of Shepardizing/KeyCite, Westlaw or Lexis research and crisp, active prose are essential.

Deliverables
1. Draft briefs in Word, fully cited
2. Final proofread PDFs with tables of contents and authorities auto-generated and hyper-linked

I can answer procedural questions quickly and will turn edits around within 24 hours so we keep momentum. If you have at least two civil appeals under your belt and can share a writing sample, let’s talk.
