Edge Computing for Emergency Traffic Management

Overview:
The goal of this project is to demonstrate how deploying Edge Computing devices can reduce network latency and improve traffic management, especially in critical scenarios like emergency vehicle interventions.
Requirements:
• Create traffic simulations in Veins (SUMO & OMNeT++) from simple to complex scenarios, including emergency vehicle management.
• Assess the impact of Edge Computing on traffic management by comparing different network latencies.
• Gather computational and network requirements through these simulations to later use iFogSim for edge computing modeling.
Deliverables:
1. Real-life traffic simulations (basic to complex) with focus on edge computing optimization.
2. Analysis comparing network latencies using SUMO.
3. Profile report of computational and network requirements for iFogSim.
Preferred Skills: Experience with Veins, SUMO, OMNeT++, and knowledge of Edge Computing.
