Excel Econometrics Model Project Report

Job ID: 40175971

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I’m putting together a small econometric study that must be built—and fully reproducible—exclusively in Microsoft Excel. You have freedom to choose the exact topic, provided it draws on global economic indicators such as GDP, unemployment, inflation, or similar macro-level series.

Here is what I need:

• Compile a clean, well-sourced dataset in an .xlsx file, complete with a separate sheet that lists variable names, precise definitions, measurement units, and data sources (global coverage).
• Develop the econometric model step by step inside the same workbook. I expect visible outputs for coefficients, standard errors, t- or p-values, and R² when OLS is used. Please include at least the basic diagnostics you can run in Excel (e.g., residual plot, multicollinearity check with simple correlations, or any other built-in test you find appropriate).
• Add a brief, plain-language interpretation of each key coefficient directly in the workbook so anyone opening it sees results and meaning side by side.
• Produce a concise, well-formatted Word report that mirrors the traditional academic structure: Introduction, Data & Variables, Method, Results, Interpretation, and Conclusion. Transfer tables and charts straight from Excel, keep headings consistent, and ensure the document is visually tidy and printer-ready.

Acceptance notes: every calculation, chart, or statistic must trace back to formulas or data inside the spreadsheet—no add-ins or external code. If you prefer a model other than basic OLS, feel free, as long as it can be executed natively in Excel and you walk through the process clearly.

On delivery I should receive:
1. The Excel workbook with data, analysis, and commentary.
2. The Word report (.docx) reflecting the sections above.

I value clarity, clean formatting, and airtight reproducibility over elaborate complexity, so keep the workflow transparent and well-documented throughout.
