zencart module debug and styling
Budget: £20 – £250 GBP
Description:
We are in urgent need of a skilled Zen Cart developer to finalize a custom "Battle of the Bands" module on our e-commerce platform. This module is partially developed but requires expert intervention to debug, test, style, and fully integrate it into our live website.
Current State of the Module:
- The module is built from scratch and currently hosted on a separate test site, isolated from the main live site to avoid disruptions.
- The core functionality and logic are believed to be in place, but the module isn't functioning as expected, particularly in the admin area.
- No significant error codes are being generated, which suggests the issues might be subtle or due to incorrect coding practices.
- Development was assisted by AI (ChatGPT), and while much progress has been made, expert refinement is needed.
Key Issues to Address:
1. Admin Page Access: Trouble in correctly accessing and displaying the admin pages for the module.
Geographic Restriction Issue: The module incorrectly requires users to be based in the United States; this needs to be corrected.
2. Storefront Functionality: The storefront side should display a "no active heat" message in it's present state but currently shows an "invalid data provided" error and no error logs.
3. Sidebox Display: A sidebox for displaying heat leaders needs to be tested and potentially debugged.
Email Template Creation: An email template matching the site and module design is required for the 'invite jury' function.
4.Styling: While basic styling suffices for admin pages, the storefront pages require a polished look to match the "Wokiee" theme (layout v1) from Envato. Familiarity with this theme is a plus and there is a working live demo site that can be found.
Project Completion Criteria:
- Fully functional and styled "Battle of the Bands" module ready to be integrated into the live website.
- Full test with sample videos for voting system logic fine tuning to ensure fair competition for entrants.
- Documentation of the installation process and a compiled zip file of the module.
- Compatibility and cohesive styling with the Wokiee theme.
Ideal Candidate:
Proficient in Zen Cart development with a portfolio showcasing relevant experience.
Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in debugging and custom module development.
Ability to work efficiently and communicate progress regularly.
Aesthetic sense for frontend styling to ensure a seamless user experience.
Project Urgency:
We are looking to resolve these issues promptly. However, quality and accuracy are paramount, and we seek a balance between swift completion and meticulous work.
Next Steps:
Interested candidates should provide a brief overview of their experience with similar projects and an estimated timeline for completion. Upon selection, access to our test server will be granted for a detailed assessment and commencement of work. We will also provide the url of our new look template (currently being setup to replace on old template) so you can ensure it matches our personalisation such as the colour scheme ect.
Please find attached screenshot which should give you an idea of how some things are indeed working as they should, as you can see the module has a lack of aesthetics as i mentioned above at present.
