E-commerce Product Catalog Website Build

I need a clean, fast e-commerce site whose primary purpose is to showcase a product catalog. At this stage I am not looking for a full shopping cart or payment gateway—just a well-structured catalog that lets visitors browse items by category, view detailed product pages with images, descriptions, and key specs, and search or filter quickly.

Please plan the build so we can add checkout and payment integration later without starting from scratch. I am open to popular platforms such as Shopify (catalog-only setup), WooCommerce, or a lightweight custom solution in Laravel or Node if that makes future expansion easier; tell me which you prefer and why.

Deliverables
• Responsive front-end matching modern UX standards
• Admin area where I can add, edit, and remove products, categories, images, and SEO fields
• Basic analytics setup (Google Analytics or similar) to track catalog visits
• Clear documentation showing how to manage the catalog and how the codebase is organized

Acceptance Criteria
• Pages load in under 2 seconds on standard mobile networks
• All core pages score 90+ in Google Lighthouse for performance and accessibility
• Source code is handed over through Git with meaningful commit history
