About the Role
We are seeking an experienced eCommerce & Digital Media Manager to lead and execute digital growth strategies across our direct-to-consumer business.
This role sits at the intersection of eCommerce strategy, performance marketing, conversion optimization, and analytics. You will be responsible for driving revenue growth through a high-performing digital experience, with clear ownership over how traffic, onsite performance, media efficiency, and customer behavior translate into commercial outcomes.
This is a strong fit for someone who can think strategically while also operating in a highly hands-on way. You should be comfortable owning eCommerce performance at a broad level, connecting paid media and site experience, using analytics to guide decisions, and identifying where the biggest opportunities for growth, optimization, and scale exist across the business.
Engagement Details
This is a freelance / contract-based remote role open to global candidates. We are looking for someone interested in long-term collaboration, with an expected workload of 20–40 hours per week depending on scope, campaign volume, and business priorities.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
1. eCommerce Strategy & Site Performance
You will own overall eCommerce performance and growth across the direct-to-consumer business. This includes optimizing key commercial drivers such as traffic, conversion rate, average order value, and customer retention.
You will also manage site merchandising priorities, including product positioning, promotions, and seasonal campaigns, ensuring the site experience supports both revenue generation and brand clarity. A major part of the role involves improving the customer journey using behavioral data, identifying friction points, and making better decisions around how products, offers, and content are presented throughout the purchase path.
2. Digital Media & Marketing Strategy
You will develop and manage digital media strategy across key acquisition channels, including paid search, paid social, and display. This means not just launching campaigns, but actively monitoring and improving performance through better budget allocation, targeting, channel prioritization, and creative direction.
The role requires someone who understands how digital media supports eCommerce growth at a system level. You should be able to connect media performance with site behavior, conversion efficiency, and revenue outcomes, while also identifying where campaigns should be scaled, refined, or restructured.
3. Analytics, Insights & Reporting
You will analyze performance using tools such as Google Analytics (GA4), Looker Studio, and behavioral analytics platforms, and translate that data into actionable commercial insight.
This includes reviewing performance trends across traffic, conversion, revenue, customer behavior, and campaign efficiency, then using those insights to guide optimization priorities. We are looking for someone who can move beyond passive reporting and use analytics to identify what should be improved, tested, or scaled next.
4. Conversion Optimization (CRO)
A key part of this role is improving conversion performance across the site. You will work on landing pages, site experience, and broader ecommerce flows to strengthen performance and reduce friction.
You will run and guide A/B testing across areas such as layout, messaging, and UX flow, and use the results to improve the customer experience and commercial effectiveness of the site. This role requires someone who sees CRO as a core growth lever rather than a side task.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
You will work across multiple internal functions, including the Marketing team, Product team, and CRM team, to ensure that digital strategy is aligned with customer behavior, commercial priorities, and broader business goals.
This role requires someone who can coordinate across teams, communicate performance clearly, and keep digital growth work connected rather than fragmented. You may also work with external agencies or contractors where needed, helping maintain quality, accountability, and alignment across contributors.
Workflow & Working Rhythm
This role follows a clear performance-focused operating cadence.
Daily, you will monitor site and campaign performance and analyze traffic, conversion, and revenue metrics to keep a close view of commercial health and active opportunities.
Weekly, you will optimize campaigns and site experience, review analytics dashboards, and coordinate with internal teams around execution priorities, testing opportunities, and growth initiatives.
Monthly, you will deliver performance reports, adjust strategy and budget allocation, and identify new opportunities to scale revenue, improve efficiency, and strengthen the digital customer journey.
Reporting & Deliverables
This role includes both strategic ownership and structured reporting responsibilities.
You will be expected to provide:
Weekly performance reports covering traffic, conversion, and revenue metrics
Monthly strategic reports summarizing insights, recommendations, and growth priorities
Dashboard tracking using analytics and reporting tools
Core deliverables include:
eCommerce performance strategy
Campaign optimization plans
Reporting dashboards
CRO testing roadmap
This is a role where reporting should directly support action. The goal is not just visibility, but better decision-making and stronger business performance over time.
How We Measure Success
Success in this role will be measured through a mix of revenue performance, conversion efficiency, and customer value metrics. Key performance indicators include:
Revenue growth
Conversion rate
Average order value (AOV)
Return on Ad Spend (ROAS)
Customer retention and repeat purchase rate
Strong performance in this role means improving not only campaign-level efficiency, but the overall digital business engine across acquisition, conversion, and repeat customer value.
Collaboration
You will work closely with:
Marketing team
Product and merchandising teams
CRM team
External agencies or contractors
This role sits at the center of several important commercial functions, so success depends on both strategic thinking and strong cross-functional execution.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone with 2+ years of experience in eCommerce or digital marketing, along with proven experience managing direct-to-consumer eCommerce businesses.
You should have a strong understanding of performance marketing channels, experience working with analytics tools such as GA4 and reporting dashboards, and practical experience improving conversion performance across digital journeys. Strong analytical ability and strategic thinking are important, because this role requires constant prioritization, interpretation of data, and decision-making across both media and onsite experience.
The right person for this role should be commercially minded, data-driven, and comfortable owning growth across multiple moving parts rather than just one isolated channel.
Nice to Have
The following would be valuable, though not required:
Experience with behavioral analytics tools such as Hotjar, Clarity, or similar platforms
Experience managing agencies
Experience in merchandising strategy
Experience working in multi-brand environments
These are especially useful in a role that blends eCommerce growth, media strategy, testing, and commercial optimization.
Compensation
Hourly Rate: $60 – $140/hour, based on experience and performance
Senior-Level Range: Higher rates are available for senior candidates who can manage full strategy, multi-channel execution, and direct revenue ownership
Workload: Flexible depending on scope, business priorities, and level of impact
Incentives: Performance-based incentives tied to revenue growth, ROAS, and conversion improvements
Growth Opportunity: Long-term opportunity with increased budget ownership and broader strategic scope for top performers
Benefits
Fully remote work environment
Flexible schedule
Opportunity to work on high-impact eCommerce growth initiatives
Strategic role with direct business impact
