Convert Paperback to eBook

I need assistance converting my existing paperback into an eBook. The original format is a printed copy, so it will need to be scanned and formatted properly. I'm not completely sure what eBook formats are necessary, but I want to ensure the book is compatible with readers primarily using iPhones, iPads, and laptops.
