Artistic Poetry Anthology Formatter

Job ID: 40022726

Budget: $30 – $250 AUD

I am completing a large, not-for-profit poetry-and-art anthology and need the final manuscript shaped into both an e-book and a print-ready paperback. The tone of the project is expressive rather than plain, so I’m after truly creative, artistic formatting rather than a simple block of text.

Scope
• Poems must breathe on the page: varied line breaks, considered white space, harmonious pairing with the accompanying artwork, and ornamental touches that never compromise readability.
• A visually engaging, clickable Table of Contents is essential for the e-book, and its print counterpart must align perfectly with the page numbering in the paperback.
• The file set should upload smoothly to Amazon Kindle first, but I also plan to distribute through PublishDrive, Lulu, and any platform that accepts standard EPUB/PDF. That means embedded fonts, anchored images, and all metadata fully validated.

Deliverables
1. Reflowable EPUB optimised for Kindle (KDP).
2. Fixed-layout or high-fidelity EPUB/PDF, as needed, for PublishDrive and Lulu.
3. Print-ready PDF (bleeds, crop marks, CMYK artwork where required).
4. A brief style guide so future volumes stay consistent.

Acceptance Criteria
• No orphaned lines or widows in poems.
• Interactive TOC functions on Kindle Previewer and Apple Books tester.
• Upload tests show zero validation errors on Kindle, Lulu, and EPUBCheck.
• Print proof passes KDP paperback pre-flight without warnings.

If you are comfortable working in InDesign, Vellum, Kindle Create, or equivalent layout software and enjoy experimenting with type and whitespace for poetic effect, I’d love to see your portfolio and discuss timelines.
