Airtable Specialist for PIM Solution
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
We are seeking an experienced Airtable specialist to design and implement a robust Product Information Management (PIM)-like solution in Airtable. This system will serve as the central hub for managing our entire product catalog (including technical specifications, media assets, and relational data) for a B2B e-commerce business specializing in specialized technical products (e.g., industrial components, machinery parts).
The goal is to migrate and structure complex product data from Magento into Airtable, ensuring scalability, accuracy, and ease of use for internal teams. While integrations with Magento/Shopify via N8N are planned for later phases, the immediate focus is on building a future-proof Airtable base optimized for product management.
Responsibilities
1. Design & Structure:
- Create a scalable Airtable base with relational tables for products, variants, categories, and supplier data.
- Define taxonomies, attributes, and workflows to mirror PIM functionalities (e.g., data validation, bulk editing, version control).
- Implement dynamic views, filters, and interfaces for efficient data management.
2. Data Migration:
- Migrate existing product data (CSV/Excel exports from Magento) into Airtable.
- Clean and standardize data (e.g., SKUs, specifications, media links) during migration.
3. Automation & Workflows:
- Set up automations for data validation, approval processes, and notifications.
- Design workflows for product lifecycle management (e.g., draft → approved → published).
4. User Training & Documentation:
- Train internal teams on using the Airtable PIM system.
- Provide clear documentation for data entry, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Key Requirements
1. Proven Airtable Expertise:
- Portfolio showcasing complex Airtable bases (e.g., relational databases, automations, interfaces).
- Advanced skills in formulas, linked records, and scripting (if needed).
2. PIM Experience:
- Familiarity with PIM concepts (e.g., data governance, taxonomies, multi-channel publishing).
- Experience designing systems for technical/product-heavy industries.
3. Data Migration Skills:
- Ability to clean, map, and import large datasets into Airtable.
4. E-commerce Awareness:
- Understanding of product data requirements for platforms like Magento or Shopify.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Magento/Shopify product data structures.
- Basic knowledge of N8N or similar automation tools (for future integrations).
