About the Role
We are seeking skilled linguists to join a bilingual translation annotation project focused on German (de-DE) to Dutch (nl-NL). This role involves reviewing, evaluating, editing, and annotating bilingual text pairs. You will assess the quality, accuracy, fluency, and naturalness of both source and target content, following a detailed client‑defined annotation schema. All tasks are completed on our client’s online platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply project guidelines with precision and sound linguistic judgment.
- Annotate source and target text according to the provided schema.
- Review and evaluate AI‑generated translations, ensuring accuracy, fluency, idiomatic expression, and adherence to grammar and syntax rules.
- Edit source and target text when necessary to produce natural, error‑free output.
- Assign quality ratings based on structured criteria.
- Provide clear, concise comments to justify annotation decisions when required.
Required Qualifications
- Professional translator with proven experience in translation, editing, or bilingual review.
- Native German speaker with native or near‑native proficiency in Dutch.
- Experience with bilingual annotation tasks is highly preferred.
- Strong ability to follow complex guidelines and apply them consistently.
- High attention to detail, especially in categorization and error penalization.
- Ability to apply structured rating criteria objectively.
- Reliable communication, responsiveness, and adherence to deadlines.
- Comfortable working with new tools and web‑based platforms.
Preferred Background
- Experience in language data work, including tasks that support training or evaluation of LLMs, speech models, or NLP systems.
- Familiarity with AI‑generated content, post‑editing, and quality review workflows.
Productivity Expectations
- Golden Set Review: Minimum 800 words/hour
- Validation Tasks: Minimum 1000 words/hour
Compensation
- USD $15 per hour
(A fixed price will be calculated based on the number of hours accumulated through completed and approved tasks in a monthly cycle. Payment is issued 25 days after the end of each cycle.)
