Fix a bug on a drupal 7 module

I have a site running on drupal 7 using this module:

But I have never been able to use it fully because there is a bug in the module
I'm software developer and I have debugged the thing a little and I'm almost sure it's a bug but can't fix it because I don't do php and have no time to learn it.
It could be that I just haven't found the way to use it correctly ? I'll pay even to be teached to use it
The problem is when you upload images in bulk they are supposed to get all the permissions equally, but they don't and I have to edit each file separately and put the right permissions, that's very inconvenient as I upload at least 10 at a time.
Two other things that might be affecting is that have the organic groups module: https://www.drupal.org/project/og and the other I think when the module was released as it is now some years ago it worked but it broke with some update of other component (if that happened it was before I installed it, it never worked for me).
The project is very old and maybe it's abandoned so i thought it would be simpler to pay someone to fix it.
