Drupal Scheduler module not working correctly

When someone wants to post content to be published in the future, they can add the content but after the cron runs, it doesn't get published. I posted a job a couple of weeks ago and the developer found a fix, but it also modified the dropdown menu that lets users select published, unpublished and 1 other option. Please only apply if you have worked with drupal and this scheduler module...will also consider another module.
