Australian Political Blog Development

Job ID: 38887318

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

I am looking for a developer in Australia - someone who has an understanding of politics in Australia and who knows Drupal. This is a blog site campaigning for 'universal' politicies, something we desperately need more of in Australia. I have registered the name, universal.org.au, and have a draft design for the front page. Links on the landing page would connect to 5 to 8 pages on different topics. Major topics would be Equaliberty and Democracy but then there would be particular policy issues, like the structure of social welfare (ubi for instance), monetary penalties, fraudulent advertising, child media protection, royalty/republicanism, the behavior of banks and supermarkets. There would then be pages on general issues like property law, poverty, increasing violence and so on. The aim is to get people, who are knowledgeable in these areas, to become contributors. You could call it a structured blog. We would ask readers to register and we will be looking for sponsors. We would run facebook/X pages probably. I have a draft design for the front page and for a logo. I have been told that this should be done in Wordpress but would be interested to learn more about Drupal, possibilities and costs. I would hope to be able to edit the site easily, adding/deleting text/images after the initial setup while contacting the developer later for programming issues/development.

The website should have a user registration system. The site should include a comments section plus forums for user interactions, including polls and surveys.

If possible, I would like to start off with just a set-up. check that it receives positive feed back and people signing up and then move on to the full site.
