Project Description & Developer Requirements
Overview:
It is an e-commerce website built with WordPress, WooCommerce, Elementor, and a bilingual structure. The site is functional but requires proper multilingual restructuring, dropshipping integration, pre-order setup, shipping configuration, SEO adjustments, security cleanup, and technical documentation. The project must be completed with high reliability and clean development practices.
The current website state (as of the restored backup on December 3rd) is stable but partially incomplete. Phase 2 involves completing all missing core functionalities, replacing previous unstable configurations, and preparing the site for scalable international use.

Work Scope – Phase 2 Tasks
------------------------------------------------------------
1. Migration to WPML (from Polylang)
• Use proper migration tools to move all content from Polylang to WPML safely.
• Establish language structure:
- Primary language: English (EN)
- Secondary language: Estonian (ET)
- Test language: German (DE) using automatic translation
- Must support additional languages in the future (FI, SE, NO, etc.)
• Ensure menus, pages, buttons, product categories, and products work flawlessly in WPML.
• URLs must follow the structure /en/ and /et/.
• Fix all bilingual content gaps.
2. Contact Forms & Email System (priority after WPML)
• Ensure the Contact Form works in both languages and sends all messages to e-mail.
• Ensure the "Register Interest" form connects to MailerLite.
• Test email deliverability (avoid spam).
• Make sure all forms work correctly in every language through WPML.
3. Dropshipping Integration (Hertwill)
• Replace the old Affiliate area with a clean and functional dropshipping catalog layout.
• Install and configure the Hertwill plugin.
• Connect Handkart.eu to the owner's Hertwill account.
• Organize imported product categories, variations, images, and automatic updates (stock, prices).
• Ensure pricing, inventory sync, and import logic work correctly.
• Test complete checkout flow.
4. Handkart Originals – Internal Product System
• Review and finalize product structure for Handkart Originals.
• Ensure compatibility with WPML (translations for all product data).
• Prepare a clear guide on how the owner can add new products, images, prices, variations.
5. Pre-order System
• Install and configure WooCommerce Pre-Orders (or similar lightweight plugin).
• Prepare all notification texts and translations.
• Fully test the system.
• Do NOT activate it now — it must be left in a state where the owner can turn it on with 1–2 clicks.
• Provide a simple activation guide.
6. Shipping System
For Handkart Originals:
• Configure shipping zones (Estonia, EU, Worldwide).
• Integrate with carriers such as Omniva, DPD, or Itella (simple rate tables).
For Dropshipping Products:
• Ensure Hertwill shipping rules are correctly applied.
Add a public “Shipping & Delivery” information page (EN/ET).
7. Cookie Consent (GDPR Compliance)
• Install a minimal, non-intrusive cookie consent plugin (Complianz or CookieYes).
• Must block marketing/statistical cookies until consent.
• Generate automatic Cookie Policy page.
8. SEO Foundation & Plugin Audit
• Yoast SEO plugin is installed but needs full configuration and WPML compatibility.
• Ensure sitemap works correctly with multiple languages.
• Verify robots.txt and indexing rules.
• Review all installed plugins:
- remove unused ones
- check for conflicts
- ensure no security risks
• Optimize site speed:
- lazy load
- CSS/JS optimization
- clean database
9. Final Documentation (Mandatory)
Developer must deliver a clear and complete documentation package, including:
• Plugin list with purpose and necessity.
• WPML usage guide (translating pages, menus, products).
• Hertwill dropshipping guide.
• Handkart Original products guide.
• Pre-order activation guide.
• Shipping configuration guide.
• Contact form + MailerLite setup guide.
• Cookie consent setup overview.
• SEO basics (Yoast).
• General maintenance notes.
Documentation must be step-by-step, simple, and include screenshots where helpful.
