Engineering Opportunity – Distribution Grid Projects (Netherlands | Stedin Projects)

We are seeking experienced engineers to support distribution grid reinforcement and neighbourhood upgrade programs for Stedin in the Netherlands.

This role involves working within strictly regulated Dutch energy infrastructure environments, where compliance with national laws, safety standards, and technical design codes is mandatory.

Scope of Work
Design of low- and medium-voltage electrical distribution networks
Engineering support for neighbourhood grid reinforcement (Buurt Aanpak projects)
Production and modification of CAD drawings according to NLCS++ (Dutch CAD Standard for Netbeheer)
Ensuring designs are compliant with Dutch grid operator requirements and as-built documentation standards
Coordination with multidisciplinary engineering teams and utility stakeholders
Applicable Dutch Laws, Regulations & Standards

All work must comply with applicable Dutch and European regulations, including but not limited to:

Energiewet (Energy Act 2026) and associated regulatory framework
Netcode Elektriciteit (ACM regulated grid operation rules)
Electrical safety and installation standards such as NEN 1010 and NEN 4010
BEI-BLS safety regulations for electrical operational safety in low-voltage networks
NLCS++ CAD and data exchange standards for utility infrastructure
Additional Dutch grid operator “Plan of Requirements” (PvE) and technical design specifications
Applicable EU directives for grid connection and system safety

All engineers are expected to work in accordance with Dutch occupational safety law (Arbowet) and strict netbeheerder operational procedures.

Requirements
Experience in electrical infrastructure or civil utility engineering
Strong knowledge of CAD systems and NLCS++ drawing standards
Familiarity with European/Dutch grid compliance requirements
Ability to work in regulated environments with strict documentation rules
English proficiency required (Dutch is a plus)
Profile
Detail-oriented and compliance-driven engineer
Experience with utility or energy distribution networks
Able to work in international engineering teams (onshore or offshore collaboration)
Strong understanding of technical standards and safety-critical environments
