Software patching MS .NET

I have software that was written on Microsoft .NET that has some way to it call into an Internet site to see if it’s allowed to run. The company that was hosting the server that authenticates this solution has when out of business and I need a way to run this software. I can give you a copy of the software and I expect a new DLL file or whatever is needed to remove this security component.
