Project Description:
I have a cross-platform game app built with .NET 7, using Xamarin, MAUI, and a Laravel backend. It used to work, but now fails to build or run—likely due to .NET 7 being outdated and possible dependency or tooling issues.
I'm seeking an experienced developer to diagnose the issue, resolve it, and upgrade the app to .NET 8 (LTS) and potentially .NET 10 once it becomes available. The project may also involve migrating from Xamarin to MAUI and ensuring full compatibility with the Laravel backend.
Tech Stack:
.NET 7 (needs upgrade to .NET 8)
Xamarin (may need removal or migration)
.NET MAUI
Laravel (PHP backend)
Key Goals:
Identify and fix build/runtime errors.
Upgrade the app to .NET 8 LTS.
Refactor or replace legacy Xamarin code with MAUI equivalents.
Ensure the Laravel backend is compatible and functional.
Update SDKs, NuGet packages, and the development environment.
Deliverables:
Fully working, updated app running on .NET 8
Clean build pipeline (local and/or CI)
Backend tested and confirmed working
Dev environment setup instructions (README or brief doc)
