### WHAT I NEED (TL;DR)

A **Windows desktop application** that replicates the core functionality of **Office Tool Plus** (https://github.com/YerongAI/Office-Tool).

This is an Office deployment, configuration, and activation management tool. It lets IT admins and power users install, modify, download, and manage Microsoft Office products — all from a single, clean GUI — without needing to touch XML configs or command-line tools manually.

**This is NOT a simple utility.** It has a sophisticated UI, real backend logic interfacing with Microsoft's Office Deployment Tool (ODT) and licensing APIs, and multi-language support. If you haven't built .NET desktop apps with WPF before, this project is not for you.

---

### CORE FEATURES TO REPLICATE

**1. Office Deployment Module**
- Create / import / export Office installation XML configurations
- Select products (Microsoft 365, Office 2016/2019/2021/2024, Visio, Project, Access Runtime)
- Select individual apps to include/exclude (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Choose architecture (x86 / x64)
- Choose update channel (Current, Monthly Enterprise, Semi-Annual, etc.) and support switching channels post-install
- Choose language(s) — full list of Office-supported languages
- "Download first, then deploy" option
- Generate silent/unattended installation configs
- Create Office ISO with embedded config for offline deployment

**2. Office Download Module**
- Download Office installation files from Microsoft CDN
- Support any language + any update channel
- File integrity verification (hash checking — SHA-256 / XXHash)
- Display download progress, speed, and package contents
- Support HTTP/2

**3. Office Activation Module**
- Online activation
- Phone activation (display Installation ID, accept Confirmation ID)
- KMS activation (set KMS server, port)
- License management — install/remove/view licenses
- Product key management — install/remove/view keys
- View activation status per product

**4. Office Management Module**
- Modify existing Office installations (add/remove products, languages, apps)
- Force Office update check
- Force Office repair
- Change update channel without reinstalling
- Clean uninstall Office (including registry cleanup of policy and user keys)
- Check and reset system environment variables related to Office

**5. UI / UX Requirements**
- Modern WPF desktop UI with light/dark theme support (auto-detect system theme)
- Customisable accent/theme colours
- Responsive layout (handle ultrawide monitors, multi-monitor setups)
- Navigation bar with accessibility support
- Console/log panel showing real-time command output
- Toast/notification system for errors, warnings, and success messages
- Keyboard and screen reader accessible

**6. Other**
- Localisation support — at minimum English. Bonus: architecture for community-contributed translations (resource files)
- Admin privilege detection and auto-elevation prompt
- Digital signature verification of Office installers
- Proxy server configuration support
- Command-line interface (CLI) companion for scripted/headless deployments
- Self-contained deployment option (bundle .NET runtime) + framework-dependent option
- Auto-updater or update-check mechanism

### TECH STACK (Required)

| Layer | Technology |
|----------------|-----------------------------------|
| Language | C# |
| UI Framework | WPF (XAML) on .NET 8+ or .NET 10 |
| Backend | Microsoft Office Deployment Tool (ODT) integration, Windows registry, WMI/PowerShell for system queries |
| Packaging | MSIX or standalone EXE with optional runtime bundling |
| Source Control | Git (GitHub private repo, transferred to me on completion) |

---

### DELIVERABLES

1. **Complete source code** — clean, well-structured, commented
2. **Working build** — both self-contained and framework-dependent
3. **README** with build instructions, dependencies, and architecture overview
4. **Basic user documentation** or in-app help section
5. **2 rounds of revisions** after initial delivery

---

### WHAT THIS IS NOT

- This is **not** a web app. It's a native Windows desktop application.
- This is **not** a wrapper around a browser. WPF only.
- I do **not** need 1:1 pixel-perfect UI. Functional parity with a clean, modern look is the goal.
- I do **not** expect you to reverse-engineer any proprietary Microsoft code. The tool interfaces with Microsoft's publicly documented ODT and OSPP (Office Software Protection Platform) tools.

---

### IDEAL CANDIDATE

- Strong C# / .NET / WPF experience (show me past WPF projects)
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Deployment Tool (ODT) and Office Click-to-Run
- Experience with Windows system-level programming (registry, services, admin privileges)
- Can read and understand the reference project's release notes and feature set
- Communicates clearly and provides progress updates

---

### BUDGET & TIMELINE

- **Budget:** Discuss based on your assessment. This is a mid-to-large scope project. Lowball bids with no explanation will be ignored.
- **Timeline:** Open to discussion. Prefer milestone-based delivery (e.g., Module 1 → Module 2 → Module 3 → Polish).
- **Ongoing:** Potential for ongoing maintenance/feature work if initial delivery goes well.

---

### REFERENCE

- **Reference App:** Office Tool Plus — https://github.com/YerongAI/Office-Tool
- **Download it. Use it. Understand it.** Then bid.
