Avalonia Cross-Platform File Manager

Job ID: 40270604

Budget: ₹450 – ₹720 INR

I need an experienced C# developer who already feels at home with Avalonia to build a lightweight file-management desktop app that runs smoothly on both macOS and Windows. All core file operations—browsing local drives, copying, moving, renaming and deleting items, plus drag-and-drop support—should work natively on each platform and follow their respective UX conventions.

I’ll be doing most of my testing on a Mac, so the project must compile and launch there first, but the same codebase should also publish cleanly for Windows without manual tweaks. Please keep the solution framework-agnostic beyond Avalonia and .NET so future Linux support remains an option.

Deliverables
• Clean, well-commented source in a Git repo
• Cross-platform build scripts or CI pipeline that produce a signed .dmg for macOS and an installer or self-contained folder for Windows
• A brief README explaining project structure, build steps and how to extend the UI

Acceptance criteria
• Out-of-the-box file operations behave identically on macOS and Windows
• No unhandled exceptions during normal use; all errors surfaced through friendly dialogs
• High-dpi icons and keyboard shortcuts mapped to each OS standard

If this sounds straightforward to you and you’ve shipped Avalonia apps before, let’s get started.
