Legacy WCF to .NET 8 Migration
Budget: ₹37,500 – ₹75,000 INR
I have a codebase built on traditional WCF services, Telerik Web UI controls, and the classic .NET Framework stack. The goal is to bring everything forward to a clean, well-structured .NET 8 REST API while keeping every mission-critical capability intact.
What must stay unchanged:
• Authentication and Authorization flows
• All existing data manipulation and storage logic
• Every third-party integration already wired into the system
Your first task will be to audit the current solution, map each WCF endpoint and Telerik-driven operation, and design equivalent REST endpoints in .NET 8 (ideally Minimal API or ASP.NET Core MVC, whichever proves more maintainable). Once the mapping is clear, the real migration starts: refactor the service layer, replace obsolete bindings, modernise security middleware, and confirm that database calls behave identically under the new runtime.
I need someone based in India so we can align easily on time zones and, if needed, jump on quick calls for code walk-throughs.
Acceptance criteria
1. The entire application compiles and runs on .NET 8.
2. Functional parity is demonstrated for auth, data operations, and each external integration.
3. A short migration document explains project structure, new endpoints, and environment setup so future developers can extend the code confidently.
Push the finished source to our private Git repo, show the working build on a test server, and we’ll sign off.
