Technology Documentation Content Writer

Job ID: 40321402

Budget: $1,500 – $3,000 USD

I’m putting together a series of clear, well-structured technical documents for a technology project and need a skilled content writer who thrives on turning complex concepts into straightforward, developer-friendly prose.

The assignment revolves around technical documentation—think API overviews, integration guides, installation steps, and concise troubleshooting notes—rather than marketing copy or blog-style pieces. You should be comfortable analyzing existing code snippets or specs, asking clarifying questions when requirements feel thin, and then crafting accurate, logically ordered docs that help engineers, product managers, and end users alike.

To work smoothly together, I’ll share product briefs, stakeholder notes, and any reference material I already have. You’ll transform that information into polished docs formatted for the web (Markdown is fine) with consistent headings, examples, and where appropriate, diagrams called out for insertion.

Deliverables
• Finished documentation drafted in plain-text Markdown (or another mutually agreed format)
• Internal revision cycle: initial draft plus up to two rounds of edits for clarity and completeness
• Final copy ready for hand-off to our dev team or direct upload to a docs site

If you have a background writing for SaaS, APIs, or other software products—and you can cite a few live samples—let’s talk.
