Smoke Extraction System Simulation (CFD Analysis) for Building
Budget: $3,000 – $5,000 USD
I am looking for an experienced Mechanical / Fire Protection Engineer to perform a Smoke Extraction System Simulation for a building project.
The objective is to simulate and evaluate the performance of the smoke exhaust system under fire conditions to ensure compliance with applicable fire safety standards.
Scope of work
Perform CFD simulation (e.g., using ANSYS Fluent, PyroSim, FDS, or equivalent software)
Simulate fire scenarios based on assumed fire load and location
Analyze smoke layer height, temperature distribution, visibility, and smoke spread
Evaluate effectiveness of smoke extraction fans and air replacement strategy
Verify system performance against relevant codes (NFPA / SFPE / local authority requirements)
Provide recommendations if system performance is insufficient
