A custom safety helmet with a built-in cooling fan is required for industrial work in Class I / Zone 1 hazardous areas. The entire solution must be engineered for intrinsic safety and prepared for either ATEX or IECEx approval—whichever path proves most practical once the preliminary risk analysis is complete.
Core scope
• Create a one-off mechanical and electrical design that integrates a compact, low-power fan only (no pads or filtration).
• Select components, enclosures, wiring methods and protection techniques that satisfy the applicable intrinsic safety standards.
• Produce documentation needed for conformity assessment:
– Design specifications
– Testing and certification reports (drafts suitable for a notified body)
– End-user manual covering operation, maintenance and safety notes
I will handle the final submission to the certification body but will rely on you for the technical file and any clarifications they request. Please outline past ATEX or IECEx projects, the software tools you intend to use (e.g., SolidWorks, Altium, safety analysis packages), estimated calendar time from concept to submission, and your fixed-price quote with milestone breakdown.
Deliverables are considered complete when the design package passes an internal intrinsic safety review and is accepted for testing by an accredited laboratory.
