CUSTOMIZE DISCOURSE ACCOUNT
Budget: $250 – $750 CAD
We are looking for a Discourse expert to help us fully understand and maximize the capabilities of the Discourse platform. Our team has a Discourse forum already in place, but we need guidance on best practices, customization options, and advanced functionality to make the most of it.
This role is both training and hands-on customization. We want someone who can:
Teach us what Discourse can do (features, plugins, integrations, workflows).
Advise on best practices for structuring categories, topics, and subcategories.
Customize the forum to improve usability, organization, and branding.
Help configure permissions, moderation tools, and user roles.
Suggest and implement useful plugins/extensions.
Share knowledge so we can manage and update the platform independently going forward.
What We’re Looking For:
Proven expertise with Discourse (please provide examples of forums you’ve set up or customized).
Ability to explain complex features clearly and train non-technical users.
Strong experience with Discourse admin panel, plugins, and theme customization.
Familiarity with community-building best practices.
Deliverables:
Training sessions (live calls or walkthroughs) to teach us Discourse functionality.
Recommendations and implementation of key plugins/extensions.
Assistance with customizing categories, navigation, and branding.
Documentation/notes for ongoing management.
