This engagement unfolds over four tightly-scoped milestones, each building toward a rock-solid, cost-efficient back-end for our contract-analysis product.

Milestone 1 – Environment Isolation + Automated Pipeline
A containerised sandbox (Docker or equivalent) mirrors production yet guards the live sync layer from harm. A one-click CI/CD workflow spins up the sandbox, runs the full test suite, and promotes builds only when all checks pass.

Milestone 2 – Asynchronous Ingestion + Robust Error Handling
Uploads must never freeze the browser again. You will refactor the ingestion engine so every file is queued, processed in the background, and surfaced to the UI through real-time status updates. All exceptions are caught, logged, and retried without blocking the user.

Milestone 3 – Deterministic Outputs + Cryptographic Caching
Scanning the same contract twice should produce byte-for-byte identical risk profiles. Content-addressable storage and cryptographic hashes will lock outputs to a single source of truth while slashing recurring API token spend to zero by serving cache hits locally.

Milestone 4 – High-Density Stress Testing + Final Handoff
We need repeatable proof that 200-page legal agreements flow through the pipeline without memory leaks or API rate-limit errors. Optimise concurrency settings, tune memory ceilings, and leave behind a benchmark report plus clear hand-off documentation.

Deliverables (per milestone)
• Source code committed to our repo
• Automated tests that cover new logic
• A short markdown runbook outlining set-up, deployment, and rollback steps
• Demonstrable artefact or report showing the milestone objective met

Acceptance is based on the runbook reproducing your results on our infrastructure. Once all four milestones pass, the project is considered complete and the final payment released.
