Pimcore Deploy, Setup, Configuration, and Training for Product Data Management (DigitalOcean Droplet)

Overview
We’re looking for an experienced Pimcore developer or consultant to install, configure, and train our team on using Pimcore as a Product Information Management (PIM) system.
The project will be deployed on a new DigitalOcean Ubuntu droplet using Docker with full data persistence and backup capability.
Our goal is to manage product data efficiently across multiple suppliers — starting with CSV imports and later expanding to API-driven synchronization with our on-premise MSSQL systems and e-commerce channels.

Phase 1 – Setup & Core Configuration
• Install Pimcore Community Edition on a new DigitalOcean droplet (Ubuntu).
• Use Docker Compose for the setup with persistent volumes for MySQL, Elasticsearch, and Pimcore data/media.
• Configure best practices for uptime, restart behavior, and daily backups.
• Ensure Pimcore APIs are accessible and properly authenticated for future integration with external systems (Python + MSSQL).

Phase 2 – Product Model & CSV Imports
• Create data models for multiple product types (e.g., knobs, pulls, hinges, etc.).
• Define product attributes: finish, height, length, SKU, carton qty, box qty, supplier, etc.
• Implement import functionality for CSV files, including mapping and validation.
• Provide training so our team can maintain product classes and perform future imports independently.
• Test imports using sample CSV files that we will provide.

Phase 3 – Supplier Access, Permissions, and Workflows
• Configure user roles and permissions:
o Suppliers can only access their own assigned products.
o Internal users can access and edit all products.
• Create custom supplier-friendly views or dashboards within Pimcore to make data entry simple and intuitive.
o Suppliers should see only relevant fields (e.g., finish, size, photos, carton qty).
o Highlight missing or incomplete fields visually.
o Allow suppliers to upload multiple product photos or PDFs (e.g., drawings/spec sheets).
• Internal users should be able to:
o Review and approve supplier submissions.
o Select which images or files are used for each sales channel (WordPress, Amazon, Shopify, etc.).

Phase 4 – Training & Handover
• Train our internal users on:
o Product modeling, CSV imports, and media uploads.
o Data validation, workflow approval, and publishing.
o Managing supplier access and roles.
• Train one technical user on:
o Server maintenance, backups, upgrades, and API usage.
• Provide short documentation for key workflows.

Future Roadmap (System Must Be Scalable For)
• API-based synchronization with local MSSQL databases (Python integration handled by us).
• Product data syndication to WordPress/WooCommerce, Shopify, Amazon, and other marketplaces.
• Workflow automation and extended supplier collaboration tools.

Requirements
• Proven Pimcore experience (please include examples).
• Strong understanding of PIM data modeling and supplier workflows.
• Experience building custom Pimcore interfaces or simplified views for non-technical users.
• Experience configuring Docker on Ubuntu and DigitalOcean droplets.
• Clear English communication for remote training.
• Bonus: experience with e-commerce integrations (WooCommerce, Shopify, or Amazon).

• Fully configured Pimcore instance on our DigitalOcean droplet.
• Working CSV import setup for at least one product category.
• Configured roles, permissions, and approval workflow.
• Functional supplier dashboard with user-friendly data-entry interface.
• Basic documentation and training sessions.
