Optimize Tdarr on Synology NAS
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
I want Tdarr running smoothly on my Synology NAS and pre-tuned to my own rules so that automation can drop files in, walk away, and know they will come out in H.265/HEVC without any visible quality loss.
Here’s what I need done:
• Install and configure Tdarr (Docker or native, whichever you feel is most stable on Synology DSM).
• Build a processing pipeline that targets H.265/HEVC and keeps visual fidelity as the top priority—size savings are welcome, but never at the expense of noticeable degradation.
• Make sure the setup handles my entire library of MP4, MKV, and AVI sources and writes back to the same formats unless I choose otherwise.
• Map the correct folders, plug in any recommended Tdarr plugins, and set sensible worker limits so the NAS stays responsive while jobs are running.
• Provide a brief walkthrough or notes showing the key settings so I can adjust filters, thresholds, or schedules later.
Once complete, I should be able to feed the library into Tdarr, watch it transcode to HEVC, and stream the results on all my usual devices with no quality concerns. Goal is to save disk space is the end.
